Welcome to ERA

ERA is a friendly and informal astronomical society. We have approximately 3 dozen members of all ages. Our main purpose is to observe the night sky and to help others get into this absorbing hobby. We have been operating from our current base in Beverley for almost 5 years. We offer a reasonably dark sky in the centre of town. In addition we have a traditional observing site in the country, away from street lights, at Arras Hill above Sancton. This is a site we chose to use some 16 years ago. As already said we have members whose ages range from 8 to 80 and are of mixed gender. Our members are also of mixed ability. In short - pay us a visit - we will probably show you something new.

Come on down to the Friends Meeting House in Quaker Lane, Woodlands, Beverley on any 3rd Monday of the month (except August). You will be assured of a warm welcome and a view of the sky, weather permitting, through any of a large range of telescopes.
